Growing Greens
A patient once ran to their dentist to get rid of a toothache they had. This situation is relatively routine, so their provider started to do an oral examination to find the issue. After taking a look, a root canal was recommended, and the procedure got started right away to offer relief.
The team began to clean off typical plaque and tartar to get prepared for this treatment, but then they noticed something odd peaking out. They took a closer look and saw there was actually a tiny plant sprouting out from the gums! It turns out a tomato seed got lodged into the soft tissue and started growing.
Man’s Best Friend?
One time, a woman had her dental crown fall out, so she called her dentist. This is the right thing to do in this situation, and she was able to get a quick visit to have it reattached. She restored her bite, but what she told the team afterward left them a bit surprised.
It turns out that the restoration fell out a few days beforehand, and she put it on the counter for safekeeping. However, it fell off, and her dog swallowed it! When she realized this, she decided to wait for nature to do its thing before she could retrieve it.
Stocking Up on Tissues
There was a man who went to his dentist because he wasn’t feeling well at all. The provider wanted to give him the relief he deserved, so they were getting ready to start an assessment. Once the patient opened his mouth, they were met with one of the worst mouth infections ever in medical history!
It turns out that the man had a hold in his palate. He thought to stuff tissues into it and proudly said how he changed it every week. Nonetheless, wet paper and bacteria only spelt trouble for his oral health.
